“Patrick Maher is a genuine and articulate voice - and ear - for Adelaide’s arts, entertainment and grassroots cultural enlivenment. A savvy organiser, both talented and hard-working, Patrick seeks a more inclusive for all-ages city community. He is a strong advocate for protecting and evolving our physical and intangible cultural heritage with much to contribute.
A natural servant leader, Patrick understands the ways to achieve creative solutions to sticky problems - and how to get things done. We agree on the fundamentals that can make our city an even more brilliant place to live, work and play. The City of Adelaide would be lucky to have him as an Elected Member and I strongly endorse him as one of four independent Central Ward Councillors. ‘It’s the vibe of the thing’. Go Patrick for Adelaide!”

"I’m proud to support Patrick Maher for Central Ward.
Pat was the driving force behind the Save the Cranker campaign – a tireless, strategic and passionate advocate who helped turn public sentiment into real political momentum.
He understands the cultural and economic value of our city’s nightlife and live music scene and more importantly, knows how to fight for it. Adelaide needs leaders in Town Hall who don’t just talk, they act. Pat’s got the brains, the backbone and the lived experience to make meaningful change. I’m backing him all the way."
Excerpt from the Association's statement on 31/07/2025:
"Who to vote for in Central Ward?"
https://www.adelaide-parklands.asn.au/blog/2025/7/31/who-to-vote-for-in-central-ward
"We contacted all 19 candidates, asking their responses to these six specific questions about your Park Lands."
"By 31 July, twelve of the candidates had responded. Of these twelve, APA recommends that, on the basis of their responses, your first five preferences should go to these five: (in no particular order): Ben Ayris, Anne Moran, Carmel Noon, Patrick Maher, and Eleanor Freeman."

“I've seen Patrick's abilities and dedication to the residents and businesses of Adelaide shine through in his work to Save The Cranker and so much more.
He has the wisdom, energy, and strategic ability to really cut through and achieve what matters, especially in an environment such as the Adelaide City Council. I'm delighted to see him stand and wholeheartedly support his campaign.
Vote him in!”

“Patrick is a hardworking, intelligent, and genuine member of our community. He has a proven track record of standing up for Adelaide, against the odds, and winning!
He would bring a wealth of experience and energy to a council that is in desperate need of his cultural perspective.”
Area Councillor, City of Adelaide, Former Secretary SA Unions
“Patrick is the sort of person we need on council - He is energetic, connected with community and passionate about our city, its culture and heritage.”
Chair, Save The Cranker, and local resident
"I keep singing the young man's praises but he has an exceptional ability to understand the nuance to a problem, legislations interaction with policy and then how policy is applied in a real and true practical sense.
If elected for council if he doesn't understand how something works, he'll call the arborist, the engineer, the policy developer and he'll draw the threads he needs to to make informed decisions. And if that conversation doesn't lead to him understanding, he'd go down to the council verge crew or contractors and look at the site.
Patrick's thirst for knowledge and commitment to making a difference is what sets him apart from most people. He is non-partisan and has a proven track record in our campaign of working in a non-partisan way and working towards alignment with pragmatic outcomes.
If Central Ward doesn't elect him, they'll be missing out because I've met many in my time but Patrick is as he stands, a man of integrity and a man who will fight with ardent skill for the things he believes in.
All the best young Sir!"
Research Fellow and South Australian Historian of the Year 2025
“After having an inside seat on the Save the Cranker campaign, I can state with confidence that Patrick’s time management, administration skills, and ability to communicate is second to none. I witnessed Patrick taking the lead on what were seen to be insurmountable obstacles and creatively problem solving to tackle them. Patrick seeks to be as informed as possible, to make evidence-based decisions, and is then able to communicate his rationale concisely and efficiently.
Most importantly, I believe that Patrick’s primary motivation is to be service to his community, and that he has the ability, energy, and drive to have a positive impact. Patrick’s work experience clearly establishes his facility for empathy and his work ethic is daunting to behold. I enthusiastically endorse Patrick an exceptionally competent and independent voice for Central Ward."

Directing the strategy for the “Save the Cranker” campaign, I believe Patrick has a real chance to make a change in local legislation to protect our city’s culture, as proven by the successful saving of the Crown and Anchor.
Remaining independent in his work with politics, I trust Patrick to put the people of Adelaide first and not bend to any corporate or political pressures.
