Frequent answers

  • Yes, you need to be an SA resident or on the SA electoral roll.
  • Yes, kids can sign too if they want to.
  • Yes, you must provide your address (preferably as it appears on the electoral roll).
  • No, you don't have to fill in the entire sheet before you return it. We'll happily accept a sheet from you with even just one signature.
  • The wording was decided after a week of conversation with stakeholders and community groups, and was very deliberately chosen. It cannot be changed. It is vitally important that you do not modify the petition before soliciting signatures. All pages must appear the same to be valid.
  • Yes, you can print heaps of copies and ask as many people as you can find to sign.
  • We are seeking at least 10,000 signatures, which means just 666 of you need to return a full form to hit this target!
  • Please return forms by 31 July 2026 (or earlier!). This timeframe is based around the next sitting days of Parliament after the winter break.
  • Unfortunately the online petition with nearly 50,000 signatures cannot be accepted by SA Parliament. Parliament only accepts hard copy original signature forms. We must do a physical petition.

This petition is the only authorised petition for the campaign. Beware of fakes!

We are aware of a fake petition which is doing the rounds.

It is in landscape orientation with a first page of demands and a second page for signatures. It claims to be authorised by the 'Adelaide Parklands Association' but it is not. One of the giveaways that this is a fake petition is that *Park*  *Lands* should always be two words, not one (except in website links).

This fake petition may be an attempt to derail the official petition.

If you see one around the place please collect the fake petition to take it out of circulation and return it to myself or Cr Snape.

If the fake petition was on the counter at a business, please get the attention of staff and redirect them to this website so they can print the official petition.

If the fake petition was being handed out by an individual, please redirect them to this website so they can print the official petition and continue with their good efforts to collect signatures.

Businesses or individuals who are unsure of the validity of the petition sheet in their possession are welcome to call me to discuss: 0435 446 950

If you make a mistake when filling in the sheet

Please DO NOT use 'wite-out' or correction tape. There is a risk that this will invalidate the entire sheet.

Please only mark the sheet with pen.

If you can fix the mistake in-place, go for it.

The simplest way to deal with a mistake is to draw a continuous line through the entire row, and then re-sign the sheet in the next row down.
